Job summary

Summit BHC's Stone River Recovery Center in San Antonio, TX seeks a Full Time Intake Coordinator to manage front desk operations, triage calls, pre-registration, and insurance verifications. You will document activity in the CRM and coordinate admissions with treatment teams to ensure timely access to services.

The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience in healthcare admissions, and the ability to assess client needs and coordinate with referral sources.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
• One or more years' experience in healthcare admissions preferred, preferably mental health or substance use disorder.
• Experience in client assessment, referral, treatment planning, and external review communications.
• Knowledge of community resources and strong interpersonal/assessment skills.
• Telephone etiquette and paging procedures are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-admission assessments.
• Interviews client, family members, or collateral sources to ensure intake criteria are met.
• Engages referral sources for client support, conflict resolution, and business development.
• Responds to needs of referred clients; coordinates with treatment teams.
• Assess family needs for mediation, sober escort, and appropriate professional resources.
• Decides which Interventionist and facility to recommend, dates, and travel.
• Documents admissions activities daily in CRM; maintains all admission documentation.
• Verifies insurance benefits for all clients; screens referrals and arranges transportation.
• Maintains waiting list and communicates with potential candidates to facilitate admissions.
