Rolling Hills is expanding our dynamic Admissions team and looking for an Admissions/Intake Counselor to join our team. The Admissions Counselor is responsible for the timely processing of inquiry/referral calls and walk-in/scheduled clinical assessments. The Admissions team is responsible for ensuring the referrals to the facility are referred to the most appropriate level of care. The Admissions Counselor provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding to escalating behaviors by maintaining focused attention on patient safety.

Position Schedule: NIGHTS 7P-7A, rotating weekends required.


Qualifications

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • RN License preferred; Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health Field (e.g. Counseling, Social Work, Psychology) considered
  • Current Tennessee Driver’s License
  • Current HWC and CPR Certification (training provided)

Experience:

Experience in psychiatric evaluation, triage, and crisis stabilization preferred; strong assessment skills required; skills in application of DSM methodology; excellent telephone etiquette and tact; ability to interact effectively with persons of widely diverse roles, backgrounds, cultures, and socio-economic classes, those in crisis or resistant or negative toward organization; effective oral and written communication skills; basic data entry skills preferred; organizational, time management, problem solving, crisis management skills necessary; flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stress necessary. Understanding of EMTALA guidelines, mandatory screening agent usage, HIPAA regulations, and third-party payer knowledge preferred.
