Rolling Hills is expanding our dynamic Admissions team and looking for an Admissions/Intake Counselor to join our team. The Admissions Counselor is responsible for the timely processing of inquiry/referral calls and walk-in/scheduled clinical assessments. The Admissions team ensures referrals to the facility are directed to the most appropriate level of care. The Admissions Counselor provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding to escalating behaviors, maintaining focused attention on patient safety.
NIGHTS 7P-7A, rotating weekends required.

Experience in psychiatric evaluation, triage, and crisis stabilization preferred; strong assessment skills required; skills in application of DSM methodology; excellent telephone etiquette and tact; ability to interact effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and socio-economic classes, including those in crisis or resistant to organization; effective oral and written communication skills; basic data entry skills preferred; organizational, time management, problem-solving, and crisis management skills necessary; flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stress required. Understanding of EMTALA, mandatory screening, HIPAA, and third-party payer knowledge is preferred.
