Description

Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson, MD is seeking to hire an Admissions Counselor for the Upper Level. This full-time,10-month position is primarily responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced, high-volume admissions office, especially during peak visiting season. Approximate dates of assignment are August 1 to May 31 annually.

Responsibilities include:

  • Event Management
  • Greet prospective students and their parents/guardians on Blazer Days
  • Maintain inventory and packaging of Blazer bags and their contents, ensuring there is ample supply for visiting prospective students
  • Interview prospective students and chronicle the visit in Blackbaud
  • Communicate with prospective parents throughout the process

Events are a key recruitment tool used to show the very best of NDP. The successful candidate must also:

  • Coordinate admissions events
  • Arrange for staffing (administrators, faculty, staff and parent volunteers) for events
  • Attend weekly facilities meetings to maintain open communication with those responsible for scheduling, set up and break down.
  • Be able to manage time effectively in order to balance two or more events at a time
  • Manage the budget for individual events: catering, decorations, and additional needs for events including the rental of club cars and tenting (if necessary)
  • Manage registrations and report to the director on the number of attendees at each event.
  • Keep a log of prospective students in the pipeline for future recruitment
  • The Admissions Counselor also works closely with the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management in the planning and execution of all recruitment events as well as the recruitment of parent, student, and faculty volunteers.

The successful candidate must:

  • Be highly motivated to recruit and retain not only the very best students, but also to engage their parents and create relationships before, during, and after their daughters enroll.
  • Be able to articulate the mission of Notre Dame Preparatory School and The School Sisters of Notre Dame.
  • Understand the confidential nature of the office of admissions
  • Be creative and knowledgeable of the inventory admissions has already invested in
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least two (2) years related experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Canva
  • Flexibility in schedule (nights and weekends required at various times throughout the year)
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Organized, creative, and able to work inter-departmentally to pull off seamless events
  • Strong communication and computer skills along with the ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Impeccable verbal and written skills
  • Ability to communicate with prospective students and families and address their needs
  • Ability to relate to people of all ages

Annual salary is $45,000 to $55,000 based upon degrees and experience.This is the pro-rated actual salary for the 10-month work period. NDP offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental and vision), spending accounts (HCSA, HSA, FSA, DCSA), 403b Plan with employer contribution, employer paid short- and long-term disability, employer paid life insurance as well as generous paid time off (sick, personal, holidays and other school closures).
