Job summary

Distinction LLC is seeking an Admissions & Outreach Counselor to connect with prospective students, guide them through the enrollment journey, and serve as a trusted resource as they explore opportunities through St. Louis Job Corps.

You will build relationships, use outreach strategies, meet applicants, and represent the program at community events. A bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in outreach/admissions are valued, with bilingual English/Spanish a big plus.

Qualifications

• Passion for helping young people succeed and connect with diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a supportive style.
• Experience in outreach, admissions, recruiting, or youth development (2+ years preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, education, communications, or related field—or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with prospective students and guide them through enrollment steps.
• Use outreach strategies from partnerships to alumni networks to connect with future students.
• Meet with applicants, learn goals, and assess fit for the program.
• Support students and families by answering questions and providing encouragement.
• Lead or assist with center tours to show opportunities, and represent the program at events.
• Raise awareness through community events, schools, and local organizations.

What you'll do

• Build relationships with prospective students and guide them through every step of the enrollment process
• Use creative outreach strategies—from community partnerships to alumni networks—to connect with and inspire future students
• Meet with applicants, learn their goals, and help them determine if the program is the right fit
• Support students and their families by answering questions, addressing concerns, and providing encouragement along the way
• Lead or assist with center tours, giving candidates a firsthand look at the opportunities available
• Represent the program at community events, schools, and local organizations to raise awareness and build strong connections
