An established industry player is seeking an Admissions Counselor to enhance student recruitment and provide guidance to prospective students and their families. This role involves representing the university at various recruitment events, maintaining community partnerships, and assisting students through the admissions process. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields and possess strong communication and counseling skills. Admissions Counselor (Finance)
1. Represents the university and its programs to the general public to increase community awareness at recruitment events, which includes high school and community college visits, college fairs, visits to schools and community-based organizations, receptions, information sessions, and presentations.
2. Maintains and expands prospective student recruitment through lead generation, prospect guidance, and matriculation assistance. Researches prospective student history, follows through on leads and maintains records on assigned recruiting territory.
3. Establishes and cultivates community networks and partnerships with school counselors, community-based organizations, businesses, community college personnel, and alumni.
4. Counsels prospective ungraduated students and their families regarding academic programs, extracurricular opportunities, admissions requirements, admissions statuses and procedures.
5. Reviews admissions applications and assists with conducting reviews. Communicates by phone, text, and email with students and their parents to resolve extenuating circumstances, compliance, and appeals of admissions denials.
6. Counsels prospective students by reviewing completed college credits, including dual credits; identifying financial assistance options through grants, scholarships, loans, and educating students on student loans.
7. Creates an individual recruitment plan each semester that includes on-campus and off-campus events with specific goals; and participates in the creation of a comprehensive recruitment plan for the university with specific metrics to reach team goals.
8. Maintains contact information for teachers, administrators, and school contacts to develop ongoing visits, meetings, and strategies to help students progress through the enrollment process.
9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in student counseling, business administration, education or related field and (1) years related experience.
