Job summary

Universal Health Services seeks an Admissions Counselor to perform risk assessments and crisis intervention both by phone and in person at KeyStone Center in Chester, PA. You will contact referral sources, assess needs, coordinate admissions, and communicate with families and staff.

Ideal candidates have master’s preferred in a related field and prior intake or crisis intervention experience for substance use and dual diagnosis populations. UHS offers robust benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master's preferred in related field; Bachelor's degree required in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
• Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with substance abuse and dual diagnosis population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention.
• Perform initial contact with referral sources and potential patients.
• Coordinate referral and intake process, determine appropriate level of care, facilitate admission, and maintain communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.

KeyStone Center, located in Chester, Pennsylvania, offers substance use disorder and dual diagnosis treatment for adults. We are located five miles south of the Philadelphia Airport, making our facility an easy location to travel to and from, for out-of-state treatment options and visitors.

The Admissions Counselor provides telephonic and in person risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines approrpiate leel of care, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.

Qualifications

Education:

A Master's preferred but Bachelor's degree required with a major in chemical dependency, psychology,, social work, counseling, or other related field.

Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with substance abuse and dual diagnosis population, preferred.
