Job summary

Life Care Centers of America in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking an Admissions Assistant (Non Nurse) to support the admission process in accordance with all applicable laws and Life Care standards.

You will gather paperwork, assist patients and families at admission, conduct tours for new patients, ensure confidentiality, and work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, compliant care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations governing post-acute care facilities.
• Follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Gather and enter all admission paperwork.
• Provide assistance for patients and families at time of admission.
• Assist with follow-up visits and interviews after admission.
• Conduct facility tours for prospective and newly admitted patients and families.

• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Communicate and function on an interdisciplinary team.

The Admissions Assistant (Non Nurse) facilitates and supports the admission process in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Prior healthcare experience preferred

Specific Job Requirements

• Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
• Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
• Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
• Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’sCode of Conductand completes mandatoryCode of Conductand other appropriate compliance training

Essential Functions
