Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking an Admissions Clinician at St Simons By-the-Sea to guide patients through compassionate intake and admissions. This role emphasizes clinical judgment, accurate data entry, and coordination of care across levels of treatment.

You will assess psychosocial factors, determine appropriate care levels, and support patients and families through timely guidance and follow-up. A master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences and 2+ years in intake/admissions are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited school in the Behavioral Sciences or related field is required.
• 2+ years of experience; inpatient setting preferred.
• Two years in Intake/Triage/Admissions preferred.
• Computer proficient with previous heavy data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for patients with psychiatric or behavioral health concerns, including voluntary and involuntary cases.
• Use clinical judgement to determine medical necessity and recommend alternative levels of care when appropriate.
• Gather and evaluate key information for insurance providers, including precertifications.
• Respond to and triage incoming calls, providing timely guidance and follow-up to patients, families, and referral sources.
