Animas Surgical Hospital in Durango, CO is seeking a patient admissions clerk to greet patients, enter financial and demographic data, and provide front-desk clerical support. This role also handles calls, directs inquiries, and processes forms with attention to accuracy and confidentiality.

This position greets patients, assembles, interprets, analyzes, and enters patient financial and demographic data in the computer. Provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The clerk will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate associates, flow of correspondence, requisition of supplies as well as additional clerical duties.

Minimum of one (1) years’ experience as an admissions clerk or in Health Information Services in a hospital setting or on the job training.
This position consists of primarily sedentary office work requiring prolonged sitting and computer use. Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching and lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds.
Environmental hazards such as chemicals, solvents, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids, various infectious/communicable diseases, infectious medical waste, radiation, and/or radioactive materials and/or radioactive waste, proximity to moving mechanical parts. Protective clothing/equipment may be necessary.
