Job summary

Traylor Bros., Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead daily operations on large heavy civil projects.

You will plan, direct, and coordinate activities, manage safety, budget, schedule, and resources, and work with staff and joint venture partners to meet objectives. The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, with 10+ years of heavy civil and bridge construction experience, including leadership of design and supervision teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required.
  • Ten years of progressive project experience in heavy civil environments.
  • Five years in design, project management and supervisory roles.
  • Bridge construction experience is required; marine construction preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations including staff; plan, direct, and coordinate project activities.
  • Ensure goals are met within time frames and budget parameters.
  • Provide technical guidance and resolve issues with project personnel.
  • Collaborate with Traylor personnel and JV partners; monitor safety, quality, and progress.
  • Relocate or travel as required to site visits, meetings, and training.

**Position Summary: **Manages daily operations including the staff. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Required Skills
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources
  • Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required
  • Prepares project reports for management, client, or others
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
  • Coordinates project activities with Traylor personnel and joint venture partners
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the project; including safety, performance, budget, scheduling, equipment management and quality
  • Leads the project team
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc.

Required Experience
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil engineering, or Construction Management
  • Minimum ten years progressive project experience in heavy civil environments
  • Minimum of five years' experience in design, project management and supervisory experience required
  • Experience with Bridge Construction required
  • Marine construction experience is preferred
