Job Description:

This position oversees OSP Construction activities performed by client contractors. The Administrative Construction Manager ensures contractor work meets quality standards and projects are completed on time and within budget. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with State and local municipalities, utilities, and departments. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulations while working within public ROW or utility easements and collaborating with the Construction Supervisor, client OSP Engineer, and cross-functional departments such as Logistics, Contract Administration, ISP Engineering/COE, and Project Management. Responsibilities also include supporting sales, marketing, operations, and regulatory tasks as assigned by the Manager or Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities:
  • Understanding permitting requirements, including Work Zone Protection (WZP) and Traffic Control Plans (TCP).
  • Managing project schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Conducting pre- and post-construction inspections.
  • Managing materials effectively.
  • Utilizing the JIM process as necessary.
  • Ensuring accurate reporting for invoicing and timesheets.
  • Maintaining precise records, including as-builts.
  • Participating in pre-construction meetings.
  • Monitoring project expenditures for accuracy and budget adherence.
  • Investigating and reporting plant damage.
Required Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of OSP Construction Standards and Practices.
  • Familiarity with OSP Unit Descriptions and SSP contracts.
  • Understanding of State, Local, and Company safety standards.
  • At least five years of combined Outside Plant construction and splicing experience.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, with extended driving and lifting moderately heavy objects.
  • Willingness to work overtime, be on-call during nights and weekends, and travel overnight occasionally.
  • Valid driver's license required.
