Responsibilities
- Establishes priorities on matters pertaining to administrative work and files management.
- Prepares the Time and Attendance Reports, as the primary timekeeper for the organization.
- Performs the administrative duties as the secretary to the Director.
- Maintains supervisor's calendar and schedules appointments.
- Facilitates communication between the supervisor and subordinate staff.
- Develops Standard Operating procedures (SOP) for administrative functions within the organization.
- Assists in developing position descriptions by using FASCLASS or COREDOC.
- Advises management in the preparation of administrative and technical documents.
Conditions of Employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty travel (TDY) may occasionally be required.
- This position requires a qualified typist.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience
GS 05: One year of specialized experience which includes:
- Maintaining files to ensure accurate record keeping;
- Informing office staff regarding administrative procedures using written and oral communications;
- Utilizing a variety of office automation programs such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
GS 06:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
- Reviewing policy changes to properly advise staff;
- Preparing reports for the command or organization;
- Reviewing correspondence for grammatical and informational errors.
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
GS 07:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
- Writing correspondence for official purposes;
- Developing reports and/or guidance on administrative functions for the office;
- Ensuring clerical/administrative functions of the supervisors' work are completed in accordance with established procedures;
- Implementing efficient document management practices to enhance office procedures;
- Reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for administrative purposes.
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program.

- The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position serves as an Administrative Support Assistant located at Pine Bluff, AR, the subordinate installation of JMC.
