Job description

This vacancy is located in the Orleans Region Child Support Enforcement Office located in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience or training in clerical work.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Function of Work:
To supervise personnel engaged in clerical activities in support of an organizational unit or program.

Level of Work:
Supervisor.

Supervision Received:
General from higher-level administrative and/or supervisory personnel.

Supervision Exercised:
Direct supervision over 3 or more Administrative Coordinators, Administrative Assistants, or equivalent.

Location of Work:
May be used by all state agencies.

Job Distinctions:
Differs from the Administrative Coordinator and Administrative Assistant job series by the presence of direct-line supervision over 3 or more subordinates.
Differs from Administrative Supervisor 1 by agency impact, hierarchy, and reporting relationship patterns.
Differs from Administrative Manager 1 by the absence of professional-level administrative duties.

Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of employees engaged in processing fiscal, personnel, educational, medical, or other departmental work.
Supervises the training, orientation, and continuing development of subordinate employees.
Evaluates the work of subordinates; ensures work product quality and quantity control by reviewing documents, reports, or records for completeness and accuracy.
Counsels employees on work-related problems or questions.
Determines and assembles data, and composes special reports, periodic correspondence, or production reports.
Gives routine interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations.
Performs related duties as assigned.
