The Seattle Police Department is seeking a dynamic and experienced Administrative Staff Assistant to research, review, and assign Public Disclosure Requests to members of the Legal Section in an equitable and timely manner. In addition, this position will complete other administrative tasks and process Public Disclosure Requests for SPD’s Legal Section. This position requires advanced technical experience and knowledge of applicable statutes necessary to identify exempt material without direct management guidance or review.

Requires one year of experience in administrative analysis, budget administration or preparation, office management, personnel administration, program administration, as staff assistant, or in a closely related field; and a bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, or another closely related field (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience that provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).

The full salary range for this position is $41.44 - $48.31 per hour.
New employees begin at Step 1 of the pay progression, which is $41.44 hourly. Current City employees’ starting rate of pay will be based on Personnel Rules regarding promotions. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) regular position with full benefits. This is a Civil Service position eligible for overtime.
