The Administrative Specialist provides administrative support to the Director of Standards Management on matters pertaining to the planning and provision of program services to the individuals who reside at O’Berry NMT Center. This position independently handles projects and correspondence dealing with sensitive issues and of a confidential nature that impact campus-wide, i.e. policy development, budgetary concerns, hiring, personnel issues, grievances and strategic plans. This position is responsible for independently compiling reports, records and data collected as a result of agency evaluations, surveys, investigations, etc. The Administrative Specialist advises staff and management of program processes, services, and operations for standard and non-standard situations. This position requires flexibility and adaptability in adjusting to changes in the work environment and the initiation of new office procedures resulting from revisions in processes and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities / Competencies
Thorough knowledge of program procedures, methods, and practices.
Thorough knowledge in applying correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling, proofreading and program terminology to compose correspondence, reports and other materials to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to record, compile, summarize, and analyze narrative and numerical materials.
Ability to plan and coordinate a volume and variety of appointments, meetings, and conferences.
Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and review administrative and program workflow and procedures.
Ability to learn, interpret, and analyze applicable program content and make necessary decisions.
Ability to learn, interpret, and explain policies, regulations, and programs.
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in problem-solving.
Ability to answer inquiries independently and coordinate a variety of resources in acquiring information.
May require ability to coordinate the work of other staff, student workers or volunteers.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
