Job description

SALARY: The salary range for this position is $76,423.34 to $119,103.64 for Schedule A, and $76,423.34 to $113,148.46 for Schedule B. New hires typically start at the minimum of the range. Current employees promoted or advanced will receive a 5% increase of their base salary, not exceeding the maximum of the range or the minimum of the new band/level, whichever is greater. Employees hired before June 3, 2014, are Schedule A; those hired on or after are Schedule B.

Under the general direction of the Court Executive 3B (Trial Court Administrator), the Somerset/Hunterdon/Warren Vicinage seeks an organized self-starter with excellent administrative, written, and verbal communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, customer service-oriented, and motivated to perform in a fast-paced environment. The selected individual will provide high-level technical advice, analysis, expertise, and coordination on projects, initiatives, programs, and implementations to the Trial Court Administrator, Assignment Judge, Division Managers, and other staff.


REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing up to 2 days of remote work outside Judiciary buildings. To participate, you must install a multifactor authentication app and have high-speed home internet access.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct and coordinate work in the Trial Court Administrator’s Office.
  • Compile and analyze statistical data.
  • Research court rules for new procedures.
  • Develop and implement public access, media, and communication plans.
  • Assist with media requests and prepare release forms.
  • Coordinate event planning with various departments.
  • Develop internal publications and court resource guides.
  • Act as liaison on legal and media concerns.
  • Track projects and keep management informed.
  • Serve as budget point person.
  • Prepare agendas, minutes, and attendance records for meetings.
  • Develop procedures for efficient operations.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree and five years of relevant professional experience or equivalent substitutions. A law degree or advanced degree can substitute for experience. Valid driver's license and work authorization in the US are required. All new hires must pass a background check and establish residency in New Jersey within one year.
