Administrative Specialist 2 - Andrews Student Recreation & Wellness Center

Join Youngstown State University as an Administrative Specialist 2 at the Andrews Student Recreation & Wellness Center.

Position Summary

This role involves working under general supervision with minimal intervention, requiring extensive knowledge of administrative policies, clerical functions, and office or program procedures. The incumbent performs routine and non-routine administrative tasks, provides explanations of services or activities, and makes recommendations for program improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform non-routine administrative tasks independently, including decision-making and problem resolution related to policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate office functions, manage budgets, assist in writing budget justifications, monitor spending, and maintain fiscal records.
  • Supervise student office support staff, coordinate work activities, and participate in training and evaluations.
  • Handle correspondence, prepare reports, and support office operations, including scheduling, record keeping, and communication with the public.
  • Assist with training new hires and perform other clerical duties as needed.
Qualifications

Minimum: Associate degree in business administration or related field, or a high school diploma/GED with three years of relevant experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, office management, budgeting, and records management.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive contacts and interpret instructions effectively.
Work Details
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Supervision: May supervise student employees.
  • Reports to: Director
