The City of Detroit’s Renew Detroit Program has an immediate need to fill an Administrative Special Services I (ARPA) - Home Repair Housing Inspector position. The appointment period is approximately Summer through Fall 2025 to assist with home assessments to determine the potential for roof or window replacements. Under general supervision, the Administrative Special Services I (ARPA)-Home Repair Housing Inspectorinspects occupied homes and fills out a digital inspection checklist form. The housing inspector must be detail oriented, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be knowledgeable of the rehabilitation of occupied residential properties in the City of Detroit.
The Administrative Special Services I (ARPA)- Home RepairHousing Inspectorwill work under the direction of the Construction Analyst. This is a temporary, project with weekly hours based on daily scheduled appointments up to 40 hours a week. The start date is effective immediately and ending no later than December 2025.
The standard work hours of the position are 9am to 5:30pm with a 30-minute lunch; occasional evening and weekend work hours as needed.
