MHS is currently seeking a part-time Administrative Secretary for the Visual and Performing Arts Department (VPA). The Administrative Secretary assists the VPA Director to ensure the smooth operations of programming for all students (elementary through high school). This is an onsite position that compensates $19.45 to $25.96 an hour. The role works up to 29 hours per week, typically within the school day.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing general administrative assistance to the Director including drafting communications, reports, and presentations, as well as managing calendars.
- Receptionist responsibilities, interacting with staff and students.
- Pro-actively communicating and collaborating within the MHS school community and with external parties.
- Coordinating the use of facilities, performance scheduling, transportation, food services, and all other relevant needs for the department.
- Financial administration and inventory management.
- Record keeping, particularly HR related.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two or more years of experience in an administrative capacity in a busy office.
- Experience working in a school or visual & performance arts setting a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft and Google applications, as well as with databases.
- Demonstrated skills in scheduling and financial administration required.
- Demonstrated skills in independently managing responsibilities and strong organizational skills in a dynamic setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Candidates should demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
- Candidates should be eager to actively engage with students.
