Job summary

The Rochester Institute of Technology seeks an AMPrint Center Administrative Coordinator to support operations, coordinate course-related tasks, and assist with student services on campus.

You will manage calendars, processing travel and events, and collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure smooth academic scheduling and policy compliance. The role offers a part-time, 20-hour weekly schedule in an academic setting.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Experience with office software and databases; knowledge of scheduling and academic records processes is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Addresses routine and complex, unanticipated issues and inquiries, ensuring timely resolution while complying with university policies.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on confidential matters.
  • Interprets practices, processes, and policies, providing clear guidance to others.
  • Represents the department in communications with personnel at various levels; safeguards sensitive information.
  • Advises stakeholders on departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assists in preparation and dissemination of information regarding degree programs, course requirements, curriculum updates, and marketing collateral.
  • Manages instructional support tasks such as coordinating course syllabi, administering course evaluations, exams, and responding to student inquiries.
  • Provides student services support, including processing tuition waivers, course permits, graduation checks, and tracking student progress.
  • Supports scheduling of courses and helps with academic coordination; ensures smooth course offerings and scheduling logistics.
  • Contributes to student recruitment and accreditation activities, including data analysis, TA coordination, exam management, and outreach events.
  • Assists faculty with grant proposal preparation, tracks grant budgets, and provides guidance on financial processes while ensuring policy compliance.

Minimum Education & Experience

The AMPrint Center partners with industry, government, and academia to advance the future of additive manufacturing (AM) and 3D printing (3DP) technologies, materials, and their applications. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for metal, composite, ceramic, electronic, and polymer AM, the center is staffed by seasoned experts possessing decades of experience. The AMPrint Center Administrative Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting these functions and will be responsible for:

  • Purchases supplies and equipment.
  • Process hiring of students and staff
  • Assist with travel arrangements and process travel reimbursements
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of special events such as workshops, symposiums, etc.
  • Assist with calendar management for meetings, conferences, and room reservations
  • Knowledge of Workday is helpful
  • Excellent part-time opportunity (20 hours per week) for individuals seeking a rewarding position in an academic setting.
