Position is eligible for a hybrid remote teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours.

Position is Exempt from the State Human Resources Act - G.S. 126

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the point of contact for constituent inquiries, collaborating with staff across DHB to address and track inquiries received on behalf of NC residents, NC Medicaid and NC Health Choice Program beneficiaries or applicants, providers, and even out-of-state individuals. Referrals come from 1) the Governor's Office, 2) NC General Assembly Members, 3) United States Congress Members, 4) the DHHS Office of Government Affairs (OGA) and the DHHS Secretary's Office, and 5) the NC Medicaid Deputy Secretary and Deputy Medicaid Director's Offices.

Job duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Â

  • Manage, assign/conduct research when necessary for proper assignment, and track the flow of constituent inquiries.
  • Analyze constituent requests and flag issues requiring special attention and resolution to better serve the citizens of North Carolina.
  • Protect constituents' Protected Health Information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Maintain transparent communication with beneficiaries.
  • Participate in ad hoc meetings to provide input into processes for development of procedures and policies.
  • Participate in staff training and development sessions as workload permits.
  • Perform special projects as needed by leadership.
