Duties

Serving as a Administrative Officer GS-0341-14 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Office of the Associate Director for Training Operations (TOPS), NCR Training Operations Directorate (NCR), Office of Cheltenham Operations (OCH), Cheltenham Administration Division (CAD), located in Cheltenham, Maryland.

The primary purpose of this position is responsible for serving as the Administrative Officer and Division Chief responsible for the direction, planning, management, and coordination of the administration and training support activities.

Typical Duties Include
  • Formulating and implementing policies and procedures for administration and support.
  • Preparing proposals, briefings and policy papers to support FLETC's budget and programs.
  • Providing direct oversight, supervision and management of division staff to ensure effective delivery of support activities and services for law enforcement training programs.
  • Developing and evaluating administrative and training support programs to ensure compliance with regulations and optimization of resource utilization.

Specialized Experience

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:

  • (1) Formulating and implementing administrative policies and procedures related to budget, procurement, facilities management, personnel, and logistical operations for a large organization or program. (2) Preparing and presenting proposals, policy papers, and briefings to senior leadership or external stakeholders to support organizational programs, budgets, or initiatives. (3) Supervising and managing staff responsible for delivering administrative and training support services, including oversight of contracts, resources, and program effectiveness. (4) Representing an organization in interagency meetings or collaborative efforts with federal, state, local, or private sector partners to coordinate operational and policy matters.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Time-in-grade:

Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
