Job summary

St. John’s Riverside Hospital is seeking an Administrative Supervisor (Registered Nurse) to oversee nursing services on the evening and night shifts across the Andrus and Dobbs Ferry Pavilions.

The role requires NY RN licensure, a BSN or higher, and strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to support patient care quality and staff performance. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years in clinical and supervisory roles with at least 3 years of critical care experience; ACLS

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Nurse licensed in New York State.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical/supervisory experience.
• 3 years of critical care experience; ACLS and BLS required.
• Demonstrates strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services on the evening and night shifts.
• Manage the administrative operation of the Department of Nursing on tour.
• Serve as a representative of Hospital Administration on the assigned tour.
• Provide leadership and direction toward organizational goals and objectives.
• Assess and adjust staffing based on census and acuity to ensure adequate staffing.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, patients, families and physicians as needed.
• This position will work between Andrus and Dobbs Ferry Pavilions.

Responsibilities

The Administrative Supervisor is a registered Professional Nurse who assists in planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating nursing services on the evening and night shifts. She/he is responsible for the administrative operation of the Department of Nursing on tour. The Administrative Supervisor acts as a representative of Hospital Administration on the assigned tour. Identifies and resolves problems and communicates major or unresolved issues/problems to the appropriate Administrator and/or Nursing service personnel. Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental goals and objectives. Serves as a resource person to all nursing personnel and to other hospital staff for discussion orassistance in problem solving and intervention with staff, patients, families or physicians as needed.Participates in the evaluation of the performance of nursing staff on assigned shift. Conducts regular unit rounds to assess the quality of nursing care and practice. Initiates counseling and/or disciplinary actions in situations requiring immediate intervention. Assess and adjusts assigned staff on the basis of census and acuity to provide adequate staffing. THIS POSITION WILL WORK BETWEEN BOTH ANDRUS AND DOBBS FERRY PAVILIONS.

Qualifications

Registered Professional Nurse currently licensed in New York State. Baccalaureate degree or an equivalent combination of experience and education required; Masters degree preferred. Demonstrate competence as a nursing practitioner with a minimum of 3 years clinical/supervisory experience. Strong leadership ability along with outstanding communication and organizational skills. Must have 3 years of critical care experience, ACLS, BLS required.
