McKinley Health Center seeks an Administrative Nurse III to lead nursing services for one or more clinical units. You will supervise staff, manage daily operations, and support safety and quality initiatives.
The role emphasizes staffing, budgeting, policy development, and collaboration with administration to ensure high standards of patient care in a university health setting.
Working under the administrative supervision from the Associate Director for Clinical Support Services, responsible for developing and supervising the nursing service of one or more clinical units.
1) Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation.
2) Three years of professional nursing experience.
OR
Two years of professional nursing experience and one year of related advanced education.
Five (5) years of professional nursing/healthcare management experience overseeing a unit or department in a healthcare facility with primary responsibilities such as personnel and performance management. These 5 years may be concurrent with the requirements outlined in the minimum acceptable quals of the classification.
Seven (7) years of professional nursing/healthcare management experience overseeing a unit or department in a healthcare facility with primary responsibilities such as personnel and performance management, scheduling, selection and hiring, infection control, policy development and enforcement, risk management and budgeting.
McKinley Health Center aims to provide high-quality ambulatory healthcare and health education to students and medical expertise to University leadership. This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 2702 - Administrative Nurse III position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 9/21/2026. The budgeted salary range for the position is$80,000 to $84,000. The work schedule isM-F 9am-5:30pm.
