Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties is seeking an Administrative Medical Assistant Float (Temp) to travel to various health centers in San Bernardino County, providing administrative medical assistant support.

The role requires 1–3 years healthcare or receptionist experience, a high school diploma, and flexibility to work weekends/evenings. A $5.00 per hour differential applies to float positions.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of healthcare or general receptionist experience.
  • Available to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
  • Willingness to travel to 6 health centers in Orange/San Bernardino County.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking skills preferred; may be tested if required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, answer phones, refer calls, schedule appointments.
  • Prepare charts, check for completeness, errors, signature and assembly.
  • Input and update patient data accurately.
  • Maintain patient records; verify insurance and approvals as needed.
  • Collect fees, donations, and related paperwork; monitor clinic flow.

Overview

Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Administrative Medical Assistant Float (Temp)to travel as assigned to various health centers throughout San Bernardino County providing administrative medical assistant coverage. Responsibilities include greeting and checking-in patients, preparing and scanning paperwork, determining payer source, collection of fees/receipts and donations, collection of IDs, and answering phones.

This is a temporary position.

Schedule: 4/10 work week, which includes 1 weekend day.

*All float positions offer an additional $5.00 differential per hour.

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or other education plus experience is required
  • Must have 1-3 years of continued job experience and healthcare or general receptionist experience
  • Must be available to work flexible hours which include weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday) and evenings
  • Willingness to travel to our 6 health centers throughout Orange/San Bernadino County as needed
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking skills preferred. Some positions require bilingual skills (reading, writing, and speaking). If required, candidate will be tested for proficiency prior to offer.
Responsibilities

  • Participate in health center efforts to achieve established goals for productivity.
  • Participate in health center/affiliate efforts to achieve established revenue cycle goals.
  • Perform the following functions:
    • Greet patients, answer phones, refer calls, schedule appointments
    • Prepare charts, check for completeness, errors, signature and appropriate assembly
    • Input and update computer patient data information accurately.
    • Maintain patient records
    • Assess client finances, which may include verifying insurance, health plan authorization, Medi-Cal cards with picture ID, collecting fees per agency guidelines, complete appropriate forms and obtain signatures per agency policy.
    • Collect donations and patient satisfaction surveys per agency guidelines.
    • Complete related financial/statistical paperwork for clients.
    • Monitor clinic flow.
    • Schedule appointments for family planning including but not limited to contraceptives and abortion services.
    • Perform clerical and administrative duties, as required by manager.
