Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a generalist administrative professional to support finance, HR, purchasing, and R&D functions. The role involves handling budgeting, scheduling, and reporting tasks as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required qualifications include a relevant degree and multiple years of experience (exempt/non-exempt). The position is full-time, on-site, with no relocation or telework. U.S. citizenship may be required for certain positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience.
• Master's Degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience.
• NNS Apprentice School graduate.
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate.
• Associate's Degree or 2-year program with 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience.
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience.
• High School/GED with 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience.
• High School/GED with 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience.

Responsibilities

• Represents organizational unit on administrative matters.
• Recommends, interprets, and/or implements company and internal administrative policies and procedures.
• Performs as a generalist a combination of administrative tasks in such functional areas as finance, human resources, purchasing, research and development.
• May prepare budgeting, project scheduling, and statistical reports as required.
