Job description

General Overview

The Administrative Fellowship is a two‑year program designed to provide broad exposure to Allegheny Health Network and cultivate future leaders. The fellowship consists of multiple short‑term rotations in the first year and a year‑long rotation in the final year, offering experience across various departments and initiatives. As a Fellow, you will support operational objectives through projects and programs aligned with organizational needs, including planning and implementation, research and analysis, and recommendation formulation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership Engagement: Attend, facilitate, and conduct meetings independently or in collaboration with the leadership team, providing exposure to decision‑making processes and strategic discussions. (25%)
  • Project Management: Lead and contribute to a portfolio of 3–6 projects focused on organizational priorities across hospitals, inpatient and outpatient services, strategy, finance, and more. Manage projects independently or with leadership, according to scope, timeline, deliverables, and role. (15%)
  • Process Improvement: Identify, develop, and implement measurable process improvement initiatives that drive efficiency and enhance overall system performance. (15%)
  • Communication & Collaboration: Effectively communicate with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to plan assignments and resolve operational challenges. (15%)
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis to support decision‑making, including developing recommendations and alternative proposals for action. (15%)
  • Program Advancement: Contribute to the Fellowship program’s success by participating in recruitment efforts, promoting program branding and awareness, and identifying opportunities for improvement. (15%)
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
