The Business Operations Specialist function includes more traditional administrative/clerical support roles including: answering the telephone, typing/word processing of documents, maintaining calendars and setting up meetings, making travel arrangements, setting up files, tracking expenses, creating schedules for pharmacy teams.

Accuracy, clear communication, and efficient workflow are also keys to providing our business partners and teams with flawless execution. This role requires a willingness to be a team player and the flexibility to take on new challenges, duties and tasks with short notice.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge/skills to activities that often vary from day to day
  • Demonstrates a moderate level of knowledge and skills in own function
  • Requires little assistance with standard and non-standard requests from supervisor, partners, and team
  • Solves routine problems on own and works with supervisor to solve more complex problems
  • Coordinate schedule to meet customers' expectations and deadlines. Communicate the status of jobs, any unique circumstances relating to jobs, etc. to other staff as needed
  • Ensure all jobs tasks are delivered on-time. Remain in contact with leadership when delays arise or schedule is jeopardized
  • Monitor jobs for errors and/or “common sense” mistakes to eliminate rework
  • Create and maintain multiple Excel spreadsheets including project tracking
  • Participate in training activities, or other special assignments as requested
  • Comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite
  • Maintain and foster collaborative working relationships with team members, internal clients, and external partners
  • Support the overall business goals by performing additional duties as assigned or requested
  • Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet agreed upon deadlines
  • Works with others as part of a team

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma / GED
  • 1+ years of experience leading multiple concurrent projects while effectively prioritizing multiple tasks, priorities, projects, and deadline to resolve customer issues and meet delivery timeline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven self - starter with excellent communication, organizational, process planning, decision making and implementation skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated effective negotiation, communication, project, and time management skills

The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
