The Chest Disease Center comprises highly skilled, board-certified physicians, fellows, residents, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, and support staff. We bring together thoracic surgeons and interventional pulmonologists within one division to provide the best treatment for each patient.

The Division of Thoracic Surgery and Interventional Pulmonology leads in lung, esophageal, and other chest-related cancers treatment at BIDMC Cancer Center, along with research and clinical development.

The role's schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am-5 pm, with the possibility of working one day remotely once trained.

Job Description

Provides support for leadership by coordinating administrative work, projects, and staff. Performs various functions requiring in-depth knowledge of departmental programs, operations, and hospital policies.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Screens calls, schedules appointments, and manages travel arrangements.
  • Oversees committee planning, distributes minutes, and prepares agendas.
  • Coordinates high-profile programs and events.
  • Prepares complex correspondence, reports, and documents.
  • Analyzes data for reports and presentations.
  • Acts as a resource for information and training, managing multiple schedules.
  • Implements systems to coordinate departmental work.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and web applications.

Physical Nature of the Job

Sedentary work with occasional walking and standing. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force.
