The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. Under the direction of the Director of Vocational and Education and Training, the Vocational Services Administrative Assistant II is responsible for planning, coordinating, developing, and implementing the vocational programs of the facility in accordance with applicable regulatory provisions and within the framework of the facility's philosophy. The Administrative Assistant II ensures the delivery of quality care, support, and vocational training for residents who attend work. They develop and implement tracking systems to ensure timely and quality documentation, are familiar with Department of Labor Laws related to resident workers, and work cooperatively with other divisions and departments to ensure harmonious relationships. The role involves consultative and administrative duties, with some travel required, and may involve variable work schedules or overtime as needed. Works under general supervision with moderate autonomy.
Working knowledge of vocational rehabilitation/training, skills for employment of people with disabilities, and issues faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities. Knowledge of caseload management, Department of Labor guidelines, and federal and state policies relating to vocational services. Proven ability to plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate vocational services. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
