Job summary

WesBanco Bank Inc. in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to relieve Trust Officers of routine duties and support trust accounting system maintenance and projects.

The role requires strong computer, communication, accounting and organizational skills, with experience in administrative tasks and basic trust-related operations; Associate's degree or equivalent experience is required, and prior admin experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Administrative Assistant experience preferred.
  • Windows based computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel expected.

Responsibilities

  • Receives incoming phone calls, dealing with routine inquiries and recording details for use by Trust Officer.
  • Take detailed messages and assist with research as needed for return phone call from Trust Officer.
  • Review mail and separate routine items.
  • Handle routine bill payment and remittance set up for trust clients.
  • Review overdraft report and coordinate maintenance with Trust Officer.
  • Review daily account activity and coordinate questions with Trust Officer.
  • Writes correspondence in coordination with Trust Officer.
  • Completes trust accounting system maintenance items.
  • Review daily tickler memo and related action items as needed.
  • Coordinates video conference facilities, physical conference rooms and other logistics related to client meetings as needed.
  • Assists with alternate coverage when Trust Officer is out of the office.
  • Completes specialized training for administrative tasks (Discretionary Request Form preparation, Adjustment Form preparation, Unique Asset Reviews).
  • Cover general receptionist function when necessary.

Job description

Summary

Key support position with strong computer, communication, accounting and organizational responsibilities. Relieves Trust Officer(s) of daily routine administrative duties as well as handles trust accounting system maintenance issues and maintenance projects.

Essential Function

Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Computer Skills
  • Windows based computer skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office word processing and spreadsheet use.
  • Ability to build and work with Excel spreadsheets, including using formulas.

  • Basic accounting background and reconciliation skills.
  • Interpersonal skills with co-workers, supervisors and clients.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to define and solve problems.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
  • Must possess basic math skills and understand basic math methodologies used in budgeting, accounting and various calculations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
