Administrative Assistant, Technology and Academic Support - Georgetown University Medical Center

The SMP matriculates over 200 students per year, and the Administrative Assistant serves to support the Assistant Director, Faculty, and BGE Office. Duties include, but are not limited to :

  • Work well with others and learn, being responsible for a variety of technical, clerical and academic duties.
  • Communicate effectively with applicants, current students, faculty, and staff.
  • Support and ensure the seamless transfer of technology and course materials needed for our GUMC and GTDT locations.

Work Interactions

The Administrative Assistant will interact with the Director and Assistant Director of the SMP, our technology staff, faculty at GTDT, course directors, and the Office of Medical Education regarding medical and graduate class schedules at both SMP sites, all blackboard sites, all medical and graduate exams (taken by SMP students), lecture captures and other technology. The Tech and Academic support position will work with current SMP students and will interact with faculty and staff in the BGE office and department of Pharmacology & Physiology to facilitate completion of duties. This position is essential to maintaining the two locations of the SMP, especially during the transition to the new medical curriculum where there are additional medical courses and new graduate courses.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's in Physiology is preferred
  • General organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work easily with computer based programs, Blackboard and Canvas databases, ExamSoft, student polling systems, ECHO360 lecture editing, trouble-shooting, and other technical issues
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve, as well as be flexible and team player
  • Good technical and organizational skills and ability to troubleshoot and work with others preferred

Pay Range :

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is :

19.20 - $28.70

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
