Job Details

Compensation: Administrative Assistant (Secretary II), $18.50/hour ($19.00/hour for 2025-2026 school year) plus full benefits package.

  • Note: The hourly rate includes a mandatory 4.5% retirement contribution to the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).

Job Description

To serve as an administrative assistant in the Dean’s Office, handling student discipline, attendance, and providing support to staff and students.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Assist building administration with clerical tasks.
  2. Answer phone and email inquiries, route calls/messages appropriately.
  3. Assist students and parents with questions/issues related to attendance, conduct, detentions, lockers, parking, etc.
  4. Maintain attendance, discipline, and other data in the Student Information System (PowerSchool).
  5. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure efficient office operations.
Qualifications
  • Highly organized, flexible, team-oriented.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Google applications.
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills, bilingual skills helpful.
  • Experience in a Dean’s Office environment preferred.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students and exercise discretion.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and handle stressful situations.
