Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Synoptics division in Charlotte, NC seeks an Administrative Assistant – Level 2 for a 100% onsite role. You will support the General Manager and senior staff with daily office tasks, calendar management, travel coordination, and event planning.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related experience, strong MS Office skills, and excellent communication. No clearance is needed to start, and the company offers comprehensive benefits and PTO.

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Administrative Assistant – Level 2 to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

An organization within Northrop Grumman: SYNOPTICS is the world-wide leader in the growth, fabrication, and coating of crystalline materials used in laser systems. These “solid-state” laser crystals are used in products ranging from medical lasers to military laser systems.

The Charlotte facility has been operating for over 60 years in the laser industry and has developed the reputation of providing the highest quality products with timely deliveries. Within the facility, solid-state oxide and fluoride crystals are grown from a high-temperature melt. SYNOPTICS has full optical fabrication capabilities for various plano and spherical geometries. The position will handle daily office tasks for the General Manager and Senior Management staff at SYNOPTICS. Responsibilities include organizing meetings, scheduling calendars, scanning/filing documents, assisting and leading employee engagement activities, etc.

In This Job, You Will
  • Manage daily office tasks, including filing, scanning, and managing office equipment.
  • Coordinates employee of the month program
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, acting as the first point of contact.
  • Organize calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings. Maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Work with agencies and managers to schedule interviews/ hire contract workers
  • Coordinate and schedule travel / prepare expense reports
  • Leads and organizes employee activities, including employee events, lunches, all-hands meeting planning, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and handle multiple tasks and activities in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Become familiar with SYNOPTICS policies and procedures and be able to answer basic questions from employees
  • Perform related duties as assigned or required.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.

Primary Level Salary Range: $45,100.00 - $75,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
