The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) is seeking an Inventory Specialist II for the Warehouse Services Unit in Blythewood, SC. The role focuses on requisitioning forms and supplies, maintaining stock levels, and inputting inventory data into the SAP system.

You will work with vendors and internal teams to ensure accurate records and timely deliveries. Responsibilities include quality checks on incoming forms, monthly cycle counts, and supporting field offices with inventory

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; related work experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Experience with inventory management and data entry into SAP.
  • Knowledge of federal/state laws and agency policies.
  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks to meet schedules and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Requisition/ordering of DMV forms and supplies stored in the Agency's Warehouse.
  • Maintain inventory stock levels with reorder points and safety stock; input data into SAP.
  • Liaise between Supply Management and external vendors and contractors.
  • Perform quality control on received forms and supplies; conduct monthly cycle counts.
  • Assist Field Offices and Headquarters with inventory information and trouble tickets.
  • Administer and execute the agency's fiscal year end supply inventory under GAP procedures.

This position is located in the Warehouse Services Unit, at SCDMV Headquarters, Blythewood, SC.

Responsibilities of the Inventory Specialist II
  • Responsible for requisitioning/ordering all DMV forms and supplies that are stored at the Agency's Warehouse.
  • Maintains inventory stock levels within Supply Management with established reorder points and adequate safety stock, also responsible for inputting Inventory data into the States Enterprise System, SAP. Also, on their request will assists Procurement and all Section Directors that have inventory stored within Supply Management with inventory data on material history obtained from the SAP System.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Department of Motor Vehicles Supply Management and the outside Vendors and Contractors that produce the Agency's forms and supplies.
  • Responsible for executing quality control checks on all forms and supplies received by Supply Management prior to receiving into the Inventory System, SAP. Also responsible for executing a monthly inventory cycle-count and review of all forms and supplies with the assistance of the Floor Supervisor.
  • Responsible for assisting all Field Offices and Sections/Offices in Headquarters with any inventory or supply information and/or problems, this includes trouble tickets for inventory held within these sections.
  • Responsible for administering and executing the Agency's fiscal year end supply inventory under the GAP procedures within Supply Management.
  • Performs other duties as required by the Warehouse Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • All requests for other duties required will be issued either orally or in writing.
Minimum Requirements
  • A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
Agency Requirements
  • Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.
Additional Requirements
  • Must have knowledge of federal and state laws, agency policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion according to schedules and goals.
  • Must have knowledge of warehouse business practices and inventory control procedures this includes ordering, reorder points, lead times and safety stock.
  • Must have working knowledge of Inventory Management and Material Management in SAP and the ECC Module in Citrix. Ability to maintain automated and manual records.
  • Must have ability to establish a good working relationship with all divisions within the agency and with outside interests.
  • Performs job duties under general supervision.
  • Must be able to make independent decisions in routine matters with their knowledge of Inventory Management and the Policy and Procedures within the agency.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both oral and written.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and lift over 40 pounds.
  • Must have a valid S.C. Driver's License.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge.
  • The work hours for the person in this position are 8:00 to 4:30.
  • The person in this position is authorized to operate powered industrial trucks (heavy machinery). For example: forklift, order picker, and electric pallet jack.
  • The person in this position is authorized to use manual pallet jacks, manual push/pull carts, manual hand trucks and ladders.
  • Agency issued steel toe footwear must be worn in the Warehouse floor area at all times.
Agency Preferred
  • A high school diploma and relevant experience in Inventory Management, Business Management, and Public Administration. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
