Job summary

Independence Excavating, Inc. is seeking an Administrative Assistant - Safety to support the safety team by organizing documentation, maintaining records, and coordinating meetings and training.

You will interact with employees and safety managers to ensure timely communication and accurate data handling. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or relevant certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably in the construction or related industries.
  • Basic understanding of construction terminology is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate and organized records.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

  • Assist in scheduling safety classes, drug testing, meetings, and tracking attendance.

Administrative Assistant - Safety

The Administrative Assistant will play a key role in assisting the safety team by providing administrative support, organizing documentation, and ensuring smooth communication between departments. This position requires an individual with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and supporting the team and Director of Safety.
