Base pay range: $52,400.00/yr - $52,400.00/yr

Position Overview

Wayne State University seeks an experienced Administrative Assistant III for its Detroit campus. The role involves managing financial, personnel, facilities, and administrative activities for a large, autonomous department within the university.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and coordinate departmental financial, personnel, facilities, and administrative activities.
  2. Manage complex budget projections, compile financial reports, and oversee expenditures.
  3. Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures.
  4. Represent the department to external entities, interpret policies, and manage personnel actions.
  5. Supervise support staff, oversee workflow, and provide training and evaluation.
  6. Prepare departmental reports, proposals, and utilize administrative systems like FMS, HRMS, PPS, GBS.
  7. Coordinate building maintenance, space utilization, and procurement activities.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college with coursework in business administration, accounting, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting procedures and university policies.
  • Significant supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with PC applications, LAN technologies, and university administrative systems.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and operate independently.
Additional Details

Position located in the College of Liberal Arts & Science, Dean's Office. Full-time, regular employment with salary minimum of $52,400 and maximum of $62,877.
