Summary
Performs daily office tasks and supports Sammons Community Center staff. Work hours will include evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs general office tasks such as answering phones, copying, mailing, faxing, and shredding
- Maintains cleanliness of lobby, lounge and other rooms as needed
- Operates a computer with a variety of office software
- Prepares correspondence such as memos, letters, in-house marketing items and forms
- Prepares cash reports, tracks data in log sheets and processes refunds, and class attendance forms
- Manages rentals; duties include processing reservations, weekly calls, and corresponding rentals with officers and management
- Assists with facilitating special events at the center, including coordinating games and arranging food setup
- Receives registration payments and secures rentals for recreation classes, special events and other programs as needed; this may include collaboration with various City departments
- Drives to perform office related tasks, deposits, and errands
- Contributes to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all participants
- Orders and maintains supply inventory
- Follows the city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate’s degree in business or related field
- Three (3) years of experience performing administrative or clerical work in related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current First Aid/CPR certificate or the ability to obtain within the first 3 months of employment
- Current food handler’s certificate or the ability to obtain with in the first 6 weeks of employment
