Position: Administrative Assistant for Pupil Services

Position type: Full Time

Position location (School): Memphis Street Academy Charter School

Department: Special Education

Reports to: Director of Special education

Employment status: Exempt

Employment duration: 12 months


Position Summary:

The assistant will support the Director of Climate and the Special Education Coordinator with administrative duties of their offices. They will be a detail oriented person, who is able to complete tasks without direct supervision/oversight. It is essential that the assistant have good working relations and communication skills.


Major Responsibilities

  • Maintain IEP and Discipline Files, under guidance of SpEd and Climate Directors
  • Responsible for pulling attendance reports on a daily basis and following the protocols listed in the student handbook for follow up.
  • Follow detailed instructions and work alone to complete the work.
  • Work with teachers to ensure that attendance is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Contact families via phone, email and in-person meetings to ensure knowledge of attendance regulations.
