Job Summary

The Bowdoin College Children's Center offers a dynamic opportunity to work in a college campus setting with staff providing professional care to children. The environment promotes calm, organized, and engaged work with children and colleagues, with weekly meetings to discuss practices and curriculum.

Responsibilities

Administrative Assistant:

  • Support daily operations including scheduling, ordering, filing, and expense reporting.
  • Assist with seasonal tasks such as enrollment, contract management, and event planning.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development.
  • Handle work orders, facility needs, and greet visitors.

Early Childhood Assistant:

  • Assist in programs (at least 20 hours/week).
  • Support children with toileting, dressing, and eating, in partnership with co-leads.
  • Prepare food and manage supplies.
  • Supervise children and document routines.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly rate: $26.50, plus DHHS supplemental income.
  • $1,000 sign-on bonus (paid $250 at hire, $750 after 90 days).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or related field required; Master's preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, DocuSign, and video conferencing platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills and team orientation.
  • Minimum 4 years' relevant experience, including administrative and childcare experience.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 1 month.
Work Details
  • Full-time, onsite, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 5:45 pm.
  • Background checks required; no visa sponsorship available.
