Position Overview

Sentara is seeking an experienced Program Director to lead and develop a new Emergency Medicine residency in Woodbridge, VA. This includes the 2023 ACGME application process for a 2026 program start. The role involves direct patient care, leadership, teaching, and administrative responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity to establish a new GME program and contribute to community health by training new physicians.

Job Highlights
  • Develop the program curriculum, incorporating national innovations in curriculum design.
  • Recruit, select, instruct, supervise, counsel, evaluate, and promote residents.
  • Develop and monitor policies to ensure program compliance.
  • Provide leadership to meet ACGME, CLER, and NRMP requirements.
  • Serve as the primary GME leader for Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in partnership with Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Manage the program’s financial resources prudently.
