The Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center provides comprehensive adult speech and language services for individuals recovering from illness, injury, or progressive neurological conditions. Our highly specialized team of more than 15 speech-language pathologists evaluates and treats a wide range of communication, cognitive, fluency, voice, feeding, and swallowing disorders resulting from conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, cancer, aphasia, aphonia, and post-operative laryngectomy. Services include speech and cognitive-communication evaluations, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), swallowing assessments and treatment, FEES and modified barium swallow studies, stuttering therapy, counseling, and patient and family education. Recognized nationally for clinical excellence, Vanderbilt offers innovative, patient-centered care through a multidisciplinary approach that supports individuals and their families throughout every stage of treatment and recovery.
