Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety is seeking an Administrative Associate to support the District 15 Court Services office in Hillsborough, NC. This full-time role handles data entry, reporting, inventory, mail, and document preparation, while assisting staff and visitors and serving as a Notary Public as required.

Work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with state employee benefits including vacation, sick leave, holidays, retirement, and health insurance.

Qualifications

  • Clear written and verbal communication with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Accurate data entry and generation of reports from NCJOIN and other systems.
  • Maintain supplies inventory and facilitate ordering of equipment.
  • Sort, mail, and manage office correspondence.
  • Prepare documents and office reports.
  • Assist staff and visitors and resolve inquiries.
  • Notary Public certification or ability to serve as notary.

Responsibilities

The administrative associate assists the District 15 Court Services office in Hillsborough, NC. This position is part of the Juvenile Justice Court Services team and is responsible for performing various office duties including:

  • Communicating effectively both orally and written with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Completion of data entry and reporting from NCJOIN and other electronic resources.
  • Maintain inventory and ordering supplies and equipment.
  • Sorting and handling office mail.
  • Prepare documents and reports for the office.
  • Providing assistance to staff and visitors and resolving problems and/or inquiries.
  • Serve as a Notary Public.
Management Preferences

These skills are not required but managers may choose to interview/select applicants who demonstrate Management Preferences.

  • Experience maintaining confidential information within the workplace.
  • Experience assisting customers with questions.
  • Experience with general office administrative procedures.
  • Experience with entering data into a database.
  • Current Notary Public.
Salary Range

Salary Range: $31,200-$51,249

Work Schedule

Work Schedule: This is a full‑time position. Monday-Friday, 8am‑5pm. This is a full‑time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, retirement, and health insurance.
