Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a hands-on setup technician to perform machine setups for grooving and sleeve cutting with emphasis on quality checks and timely production. You will verify setup quality, coordinate with the scheduling team, and ensure proper labeling and identification of all products as they exit the machine.

The role requires basic manufacturing experience, a high school diploma, and good reading/comprehension of work instructions.

Qualifications

  • One year manufacturing experience and a satisfactory work history.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Good communication skills, ability to read and understand work instructions required.
  • Computer/micro-view proficiency desired.
  • Experience with gauges, calipers, micrometers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
  • Work with scheduling to meet customer schedules and complete setups safely and efficiently.
  • Remove product from previous setups and move to appropriate inventory or packaging.
  • Verify the setup produces good quality product at the specified production rate.
  • Advise supervisor of quality related issues.
  • Ensure products leaving the machine are properly identified with tickets or tags.
  • Verify Operators have what they need to start running.
  • Report safety hazards to supervisor and any discrepancies in work instructions to QC Manager.
  • Collaborate with team to maintain continuous flow of product.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for performing machine setups in the grooving and/or sleeve cutting operations. Perform dimensional and visual checks on production machines. Assist production operators in maintaining quality production output.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
  • Work closely with the scheduling department to maintain customer schedules and to complete setups in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Remove all product from previous setup(s) and move to appropriate inventory or packaging location.
  • Verify that the setup is producing good quality product at the specified production rate.
  • Advise group leader or supervisor of quality related issues.
  • Make sure that all products leaving the machine is properly identified with travel tickets and/or appropriate identification such as a reject tag.
  • Verify that the Machine Operators have what they need to start running.
  • Correct or report any safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Correct or report all discrepancies or changes in work instructions to the QC Manager or supervisor.
  • Work effectively with all team members to provide a continuous flow of product throughout the production.
  • Perform all assigned tasks to the best of your ability to become a valuable contributing member of the company.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to do any combination of walking, standing or sitting and bending throughout the day.
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds repetitively.
  • Repetitive fine manipulation and good hand/eye coordination is required.
  • Visual ability to distinguish discrete cosmetic defects form functional defects.

  • Pay Range: $17.66/hr to $19.49/hr
