You will make an impact by:

1. Delivering class and/or clinical instruction according to an approved curriculum using effective teaching methods.
2. Supervising students in clinical settings, assessing their ability to apply classroom knowledge, master skills, communicate effectively, and plan patient care.
3. Developing lesson plans, advising and tutoring students, maintaining attendance and grade records, and staying current in your teaching field.
4. Participating in faculty meetings, professional development, and in-service training sessions annually.
5. Engaging in college activities such as in-services, student functions, graduation, open houses, orientations, and advisory board meetings.
6. Supporting student success through quality instruction, achievement of academic goals, retention, and preparation for healthcare roles.

Your Experience Includes:

OPTION 1:

• At least 2 years of nursing experience as an RN or LVN within the last 5 years.

OPTION 2:

• At least 6 years of combined LVN and RN nursing experience or 6 years of either.

Education:

OPTION 1:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution recognized by the DOE, with coursework in teaching, or
• California teaching certification, or
• At least 1 year of full-time teaching experience in an accredited nursing or vocational school within the last 5 years.

OPTION 2:

• Meet community college or state university educational minimums (ADN) in California.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Current active California LVN or RN license.
• Current CPR certification.
