Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified Adjunct Therapist within our Eating disorders outpatient unit in Somerville, NJ. This position will focus on mental health rehabilitation through the creative arts.

Qualifications:

Required:

1. Bachelor's Degree required
2. Degree must be from an accredited institution and be related to mental health rehabilitation/ Creative Arts Therapy, including but not limited to Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy
3. Minimum 3 years of Creative Art Therapies
4. Licensure commensurate with the degree

Preferred:

1. Masters degree preferred
2. Supervisory experience preferred
3. Acute setting and Behavioral Health experience preferred
4. Eating disorder experience a plus

Scheduling Requirements:

1. Day shifts
2. Per Diem Schedule

Essential Functions:

1. The Adjunct Therapist participates in the design, implementation and evaluation of the therapeutic programming.
2. All methods of practice shall conform to written hospital policies and procedures and be carried out to the highest achievable level of competence.
3. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapeutic, educational and diversionary recreation services to restore, remediate and/or rehabilitate effects of illness and disability.
4. Through the provision of therapy, programs, resources, and support staff work with patients to encourage the development of satisfying recreational interests and skills for participation in departmental recreational programs.
