Job summary

Virginia Peninsula Community College seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach Marine Trades Training (MTT) Structural Fitting in the Workforce Development Department. Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Significant work experience within the welding and structural fitting field.
  • Prior experience delivering or developing training.
  • Have a passion for the discipline and a commitment to student-centered learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication with students, staff and faculty.
  • Ability to work at all campus locations.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Marine Trades Training (MTT) Structural Fitting in Workforce Development.
  • Instruct students on safety practices and proper use of structural fitting tools and equipment.
  • Explain ship structures, orientation, and terminology; read and apply blueprints.
  • Apply math and measurement skills to projects; demonstrate tool usage for repairs and building ships.
  • Promote workplace readiness and effective communication; support diverse learners.
