Grand Canyon University is seeking Adjunct Clinical Nursing faculty members for PRN teaching. Travel within the St. Louis, Missouri area is required to observe student performance during clinical rotations.

You will reinforce nursing content for pre-licensure students and collaborate with faculty to evaluate progress, including grading written and clinical check-offs. Requirements include a BSN with immediate enrollment in an MSN program, 5 years RN experience (3 years psych care) with Missouri

Qualifications

• BSN required; enroll in MSN Leadership or MSN Education program upon hire.
• MSN preferred and 2 years recent direct Psych patient care nursing experience.
• Active RN license in Missouri and multi-state (compact) RN license.
• 5 years RN clinical experience with 3 years direct Psych nursing with BSN.
• CFA completion through Missouri Hospital Association before application (if applicable).
• Must pass drug test and competency testing.

Grand Canyon University has an opening for Adjunct Clinical Nursing faculty members, and we invite applications from individuals who are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with our Nursing students.

This PRN adjunct position requires travel within the St. Louis, Missouri area to directly observe student performance, when scheduled for clinical rotations.

What You Will Do

• Reinforce didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing
• Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives
• Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs
• Remain current with new trends and development in the specific field of nursing practice
• Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
• Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University
• Travel to GCU student sites, directly observing student performance
• Participate in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University

What You Need

• BSN required. BSNs will be required to enroll in a GCU MSN Leadership or MSN Education program, immediately upon hire, paid for by GCU OR
• BSN with proof of at least 9 credits/3 classes in any graduate program OR approved national certification related to the content area being taught. Please specify your graduate credits OR national certification on your resume.
• 5 years recent RN clinical experience with 3 years recent direct Psych patient care nursing experience with a BSN
• BSN applicants must have documented completion of the Clinical Faculty Academy (CFA) through the Missouri Hospital Association at the time of application. Please specify that you have this on your resume, before applying. This is free and great for continuing education!
• MSN preferred and 2 years recent direct Psych patient care nursing experience.
• CFA NOT required for anyone with a conferred Master's in any field.
• An active, current, unencumbered, and multi-state (compact) RN license
• Must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
