Job summary

Pellissippi State Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor in Radiologic Technology, Positioning Lab. The instructor will provide quality instruction, foster a positive learning environment, and focus on classroom and lab assessment.

Responsibilities include planning and teaching courses, supervising students, procuring instructional materials, evaluating progress, and maintaining adherence to departmental policies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • 5+ Years of Clinical Experience.
  • Current ARRT Certification/Registered.
  • Current BLS Certified.

  • Supervising the study and learning activities of students assigned.
  • Submitting requests for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
  • Evaluating the academic progress of students.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of services, regulations, and procedures per Adjunct Faculty Handbook.
  • Submitting course grades and performing other administrative duties as required.
  • Scheduling two office hours and providing access plans if needed.

Position Summary:

To provide quality instruction for studentlearning and to maintain a positive learning environment in theclassroom. The major emphasis will be placed on teaching andevaluating students in the classroom and laboratories.

School:

School of Sciences and Nursing

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in thecourse descriptions and course syllabi.
  2. Supervising the study and learning activities of studentsassigned.
  3. Submitting requests through the department head, programcoordinator, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks,and other instructional aids.
  4. Evaluating the academic progress of students.
  5. Demonstrating knowledge of services, regulations, and proceduresas defined in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook.
  6. Submitting course grades and performing other administrativeduties as required.
  7. Scheduling two office hours. For extenuating circumstances inwhich office hours cannot be scheduled, the adjunct faculty membermust submit a written plan to the Dean describing how students canaccess the instructor. Office hours are not paid during the summersession.

Availability/Closing Date:

Adjuncts are hired on an as-needed basis. Futureteaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may includefall, spring, and summer.
